        The Idea That Changed Everything

        It started with powdered capsicum, a time-honored herb that Gene Hughes hoped to use for his own digestive health. Discovering quickly that a spoonful of capsicum was neither tasty nor convenient, Gene was in need of an innovator. Naturally, he turned to his wife, Kristine. Her solution: Capsules!

        It may seem simple today-filling capsules with herbs for holistic, daily use-but that kitchen table endeavor in 1972 sparked Nature's Sunshine, the first company encapsulating herbs, making the power of nature morea ccessible and convenient for anyone, anywhere.
